After reading Jcpoppe’s write up about the Shepherd Express “BEST OF MKE” and its winner of the HIP HOP section B*RIGHT. I realized more then ever…that the word “HATER” & “HATIN’” gets thrown around to much now a days. Do I agree with his write up on them…NAH, do I think he was speaking some truth on how the awards shit is put together..yeah. But to start up a witch hunt on each other does nothing, but make shit worst here.

This city is segregated more then aisles at pick n save, and it reflects in the hip hop scene just the same. Each scene has had its take on “BEST OF MKE” awards, showcasing only the people they know and have heard of. Radio Milwaukee has their awards every year, I remember 2 years ago when Ray Nitti had “BOW” heavy on the radio…He got no love or recognition from the “DIVERSE MUSIC FOR A DIVERSE CITY” radio station. HOW does this happen? why does it happen? my answer is….NOBODY CARES

NOBODY CARES…unless it benefits them, Most consumers don’t know or care about these “BEST OF” shits…and since they are segregated events, due to lack of knowledge or fear of “HIP HOP” here, then there is NO cross promotion or marketing and we end up having four fucking different “BEST OF” events. Of which each group has who they think is “PUTTING ON” ETC….which really is nothing but a fucking circle jerk! So the Shepherd Express decides to allow the people to write in who they want, meaning I could have voted for “young deuce’s doo rag” (S/O SNYD & EMP) LOL…in the hip hop section if I wanted to. So can I fault B*right for getting they votes up…NO…do I think we NEED to careless about what other artists do in this city and focus on how to get to the next level….YES!

Also lets learn to take criticism, If you can’t handle it (PAUSE) on a local level…HOW will you take it (PAUSE) on a national level. Using the word “HATER” makes me think you are mentally handicapped…are you? ask your self that? If the answer is no, then keep your shit moving bro bro. No matter what you do…if you have an idea and put it out there to the masses, then be ready for anything good or bad.
